Unpredictability: breaking free from perceptions

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a situation where someone's façade crumbles, revealing a side of them that completely contradicts their usual demeanor? One moment they're the epitome of kindness and excellence, and the next, they're gossiping about others or speaking poorly of someone. This dichotomy can be jarring, leaving you wondering what their true nature is.

This got me thinking – what if we could avoid being typecast or judged based on our actions? What if we could keep people guessing, making it impossible for them to pin us down? The key lies in embracing unpredictability.

Imagine if you wore different attire every day, mixing and matching styles to keep people guessing. One day, you'd show up in casual jeans and a T-shirt, and the next, you'd don a kurta, defying expectations. Similarly, in your interactions, you'd balance kindness with assertiveness, making it difficult for others to anticipate your reactions.

By being unpredictable, you'd make it challenging for others to form a fixed perception of you. They wouldn't know what to expect, and their attempts to gossip or judge you would be met with confusion. You'd ace one exam and struggle in the next, or surprise everyone with a different hairstyle or attitude.

The question remains: is this approach to life effective, or would it lead to mistrust and confusion? Perhaps the answer lies in finding a balance between being authentic and being unpredictable. By embracing this mindset, you might just discover a new way to navigate the complexities of human relationships and perceptions.

What do you think? Should we strive to be more unpredictable, or is it better to stick with what we know?

So...this is 🤯 moment?

I was studying for college exams, trying to wrap my head around this 'call by value' concept in functions. We'd done the usual examples - passing copies of documents, not the originals. After done studying , I was having my dinner, I had a striking thought, how kids inherit traits from their parents. And then it hit me - genetics is basically call-by-value IRL! Think about it. When a kid gets their parents' genes, they're not getting the actual original genetic code. They're getting a copy. Just like how a function gets a copy of the original value, not the value itself. The parents' genetic code stays unchanged, just like the original value in the caller function. And the kid's genetic code is its own separate thing, like the local copy of the value in the called function.
Mind. Blown.🙋

Too real to be true

I aspire to be seen,
in the world full of people who are sheen.
They force me to act serene,
but I can't do that for long because that makes me obscene.
The world preach authenticity,
to be true to your soul.
But when you do that,
they lose their control.
They will cheer you at your lowest,
lifting your head up,
But when you rise above,
they will try to f**k you up.
They will never let you breathe,
no matter what you do.
They think they are not supposed to be satisfied,
no matter how hard you do.
Are you able to be honest even with your own self,
let alone the world?
What made you think you can please them, if you are not at peace within your own shield?

How पकोड़ा taught me an important life lesson.

I was starving, so I fried some fritters. Ate a few, got full, and left the rest. Naturally, they went cold, hard and impossible to enjoy. I heated them up, and boom, they were soft and edible again.

People? Same deal. Treat them like crap, and they’ll shut down. But give them warmth, care, affection and watch them being the loveliest person.

Caution: Some people stay cold no matter how much effort you waste on them. Don’t bother reheating the irredeemable.

This is your sign to start documenting your learnings

Finished watching a podcast of one of my favourite Youtubers (Ansh Mehra) and ducumented my learnings, here they are:

→Doesn't matter what school/college you're in, online sources related to anything, that too mostly free are available for all of us. Use them. Invest your time/money to educate yourself.
→To build a personality...
We need to focus on two-three core areas that are- hard skills(pick what builds curiosity in you), speaking (communication skills)- how expressively yet simply you can convey your thoughts. And that usually comes from the people we look up to. Don't just be a fan of someone, study them, do research about them.
→Views on a video is NOT something that you should look up to see if the content is worth seeing, valuable or not.
→How to be unique?
Be empathetic. A quality that a lot of people lacks in current times, try to build this quality in you. Try to understand what someone is going through and talk to them in that way, don't just throw your advices on them, try to be soft make them feel supported (A LOT OF people really need to learn this).
→How to start making money?
If you want to make a decent above pocket money types money (15K-20K) a month, that's easy. Even if you will work on that for a month or two, you can do it. (Freelancing), that's no big deal. But if you want to earn real money (up to 45K-50K) you need to go in depth in that niche. Invest yourself, your time-money in that. Time is your biggest asset. Stop blaming education system for everything, yeah, I understand there are some skills (marketing, etc) which are not taught by schools / colleges properly and you need in real life experience to learn them but a lot of things, courses are taught in schools and colleges correctly. It's YOU who is not studying and then you don't get a job or an internship and then you went on to blame the education system, don't do that.
→Being above average + real hard work + articulation = success
→How to elevate your communication skills?
Read! Write! Talk! Observe! Reflect! Practice! Repeat!
Develop the ability to connect. Observe and understand the person's strengths and weaknesses. It will make you a better colleague, a better classmate, a better friend, a better human in general.
→You don't need to dominate the room, you have to take people along with you and by having great communication skills, that's easy.
→Is your degree worth it? IIT or Non IIT?
Crisp and short answer is Yes (in the short term), No (in the long run) Explanation: It's not about having great skills(yes, it is, but read ahead please), it's about the trust you can get, if you got an opportunity, were you able to prove yourself in that one? The person who gave you that opportunity didn't regretted doing so? Psychologically, we will tend to believe / select someone whose presentation / branding is better, appealing etc. So of course, the person with the IIT tag will get the opportunity before you, just because your college is not so demanding, even if you're better than them. Yeah, once you've entered the industry, you'll gain experience and keeps getting better, than getting opportunities will be no big deal for you, but here I'm talking about the starting point/initial stage of your career.
So, make sure to not just learn and upgrade yourself but also to be more visible, online - offline, both.
→Top skills you (as a student) should learn- About data, cloud computing, AI & ML. Specialise yourself in a particular domain, basically.
→If you're someone who's not happy with their current college life and you keeps getting that feeling ki 'yahan toh mera kuch hone se raha'- that's your sign to just START, start your own research, study, be curious, there must be something that is exciting to you study that, specialise yourself in that.
→According to Dan Koe, there are three things are brain can do- Consume, connect and create. Be very mindful of that. Do things consciously and not on auto pilot.
→Don't be a loser, be a winner.
Be humble, don't act over smart, observe, study others, don't be a Kuye ka mendhak, get out of your bubble world, always be welcoming to new learnings.
→Train your brain to not think negatively, be resistant to negativity, toxicity and any bad traits like these.
→Have good friends, spend time with people you love. Take care of your physical, mental and emotional well being.
→Be a smart consumer, be very mindful and concious about things that you consume, whether it be online content, gossips, food..literally anything.
→Future is unpredictable, be aware, keep yourself informed and continue learning new things.

Repitition of habits

Habits, something that is repititive, a routine that we follow almost everyday. But, there are some habits that we tend to do on some events of our life, that may not be a part of our daily routine, but they happens, once in a while, once in a month or two. For example, you're choosen by the teacher to speak on stage, in front of everyone and YOU ARE A confident kid but still there's nervousness, which makes you shake your leg. It's a habit, you only do it, when you're nervous and the thing is that you don't even do it, it just happened. It's normal, it's okay to not always be confident, but don't let that nervousness overshadow you. That's some motivation dose, but yeah let's just stick to our topic, habits. What I actually wanted to say is that all of our habits are acquired by our surroundings, environment. It's not like what we are today is just because of a single person. Our parents, first of all, they start building our personality, they teach us basic manners and etiquettes, how to act in front of certain people, who should we help, who should we talk to, how to talk, greet etc. Then, in schools, our teachers and fellow classmate's behaviour starts altering our personality and that process continues in senior classes, college, job/ business world as well. And that's how it is done. There's no shame in changing your opinion and accepting it after gaining more knowledge about that thing. That's how we grow. With our age, our opinions need to be changed on a lot of issues, but obviously not on everything. Whenever I hear people saying that they have learnt everthing from this particular person, they're my only ideal, that's wrong, they're basically lying without even knowing it. Whatever they're today, that's not and can't be just because of one person, there are a lot of people in the making of that superior version of them. Yes, you can say that they've taught you everything about a particular field, that's a correct statement.
I don't know what made me write this, that not what I wanted to write but yeah it is what it is, happens sometimes. That's it for this one, see you all next time.

Stay hydrated y'all♡
Bye.
